woman with perfect smile in stylish boho autfit.

Orthognathic surgery is used to correct the most severe cases that include bad bites, jaw bone abnormalities, and malocclusion. Orthognathic surgery, also known as jaw surgery, and is used to help align your upper and lower jaw.

This surgery is needed when the jaws do not line up correctly and proper bite alignment cannot be achieved through less invasive forms of orthodontic treatment. Our 5 Star orthodontist at Panther Creek Orthodontics will be able to tell you if you are a candidate for this type of treatment.

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon performs orthognathic surgery. Usually braces work in conjunction with the surgery. Once your jaw has healed, your orthodontist will adjust your bite. Most braces continue to be worn for six to twelve months following surgery. Once your braces are removed, you will wear a retainer to help maintain your new smile.
